Archer Park Community Cleanup Day
Archer Park Community Cleanup Day offers families a hands-on way to care for their neighborhood while teaching kids the value of environmental stewardship. Organized by the city's Green Team initiative, this volunteer event welcomes everyone from preschoolers to teens to help keep Huntsville's green spaces clean and inviting. It's a low-pressure service opportunity where even the youngest helpers can make a visible difference. The cleanup begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 27th at Archer Park, located at 3315 Archer Drive SW. All supplies are provided—trash bags, litter sticks, and safety vests—so families just need to show up ready to pitch in. There's no cost to participate, and volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join for as long as their schedule allows. This event works particularly well for families with children ages 3-14 who are learning about community responsibility. Younger kids can stick with parents while picking up visible litter in open areas, while older children might enjoy the challenge of covering more ground. Bring sunscreen, water bottles, and closed-toe shoes for everyone. If you have questions about the event or want to coordinate with a larger group, contact the Green Team at (256) 532-5326.
