The Huntsville Botanical Garden invites families to explore the intersection of literature and gardening through Botanical Bookworms, a book club series designed for nature enthusiasts of all ages. This September gathering focuses on "Seeds of Knowledge: Propagation Basics," where participants discuss nature-themed books while learning hands-on gardening skills. The session includes three featured titles—*Wild Dark Shore* by Charlotte McConaghy, *What We Sow* by Jennifer Jewell, and *Seeds to Dust* by Marc Hamer—though you're welcome to attend even if you haven't read all (or any) of them. The real draw for families is the combination of thoughtful conversation and practical learning, plus everyone leaves with a propagated plant they've created themselves. The event takes place Saturday, September 19, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Huntsville Botanical Garden on Bob Wallace Avenue. The morning begins with welcome and introductions, followed by either a guided garden tour or guest speaker presentation. The book discussion runs from 11:00 to 11:50 a.m., with time for wrap-up and announcements before noon. Pricing is $20 for Garden members or $40 for non-members (which includes garden admission for the day). Door prizes add an extra element of fun to each meeting. This program works well for families with older children who can engage in reading discussions and handle propagation activities, typically ages 10 and up.
