Concert Prep
If your family loves live music and community connection, here's a chance to be part of the magic before the music starts. The Land Trust of North Alabama is inviting volunteers of all ages to help prepare Three Caves for Moon Dance, one of the organization's signature outdoor concerts. This hands-on morning gives families a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to create a memorable community event while spending time together in the beautiful natural setting of Three Caves. The volunteer session takes place Thursday morning, September 17, 2026, at 9:00 AM at Three Caves on Kennamer Drive Southeast. There's no cost to participate, though registration is required for each person attending, as everyone needs to sign a waiver (guardians can register on behalf of children). No special skills or experience are needed—just a willingness to pitch in alongside other Land Trust supporters. Plan to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and come prepared for outdoor work with bug spray, sunscreen, and plenty of water. This is an excellent opportunity for school-age kids and teens to learn about event production and community service while getting some fresh air. Families who volunteer often feel an extra sense of connection when they return for the actual concert, knowing they helped create the experience. If the event needs to be canceled, registered participants will receive an email notification.
