Glass: Introduction to Glass Fusing
Here's a hands-on art experience that lets you create something beautiful to take home. This glass fusing workshop at Burritt on the Mountain guides participants through making a 6x6 glass piece—perfect for displaying in a sunny window or hanging as decorative art. Instructor Cate Woodall, who has years of experience teaching glass fusing and ceramics, will share techniques and tips for working with glass materials and specialized tools. No prior experience is needed, making this an accessible introduction to this satisfying craft. The three-hour workshop takes place on Saturday, September 12th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm and costs $70 (which includes a $20 supply fee covering all materials). You'll complete your design during the class, then the piece will be fired in a kiln and ready for pickup the following week. Since working with glass requires focus and fine motor skills, this workshop is designed for adults ages 19 and up rather than younger children. Register by September 5th at 5:00pm to secure your spot—classes require a minimum number of participants to run. Plan to dress comfortably for a creative afternoon, and know that all supplies and tools are provided. If you need to cancel, be aware that 25% of the registration fee is non-refundable, and full refunds are only available if you cancel more than 30 days before the class date. This policy helps support the instructors who prepare materials and plan each session.
