Autumn Equinox Concert
The Autumn Equinox Concert offers families a lovely way to welcome fall with an evening of live music in one of Huntsville's most beautiful outdoor settings. Southern Strings will perform a blend of classical and contemporary string music at the Huntsville Botanical Garden's open-air Amphitheatre, creating a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere under the stars. Whether you're introducing younger children to live music or enjoying a peaceful evening with teens, the natural surroundings and accessible musical program make this an appealing outing for all ages. The concert runs from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on September 20th, with ticket scanning beginning at 5:30 pm. Members pay $20 in advance ($25 day-of), while non-members pay $35 ($40 day-of). Seating is on the Amphitheatre's concrete steps, so families should bring cushions or blankets for comfort. Lawn chairs are welcome but must be placed in the back row or grassy areas to maintain sightlines. The event happens rain or shine, moving indoors to Isenberg Grand Hall if needed. Arrive early to grab food from Fern & Feast On-the-Go or visit the Garden Bar for drinks, including a fall-inspired signature cocktail for parents. This concert is part of FestiFall, the Garden's seasonal celebration running through September and October. Consider pairing your visit with a stroll through the Garden's autumn displays before settling in for the show. Young children might appreciate the intermission break, and the outdoor setting allows for a bit more movement than a traditional concert hall. Pack layers since evenings can cool off as the sun sets.
