Moon Dance at Three Caves 2026
Picture this: dancing under the stars in a former limestone quarry nestled within one of the largest urban nature preserves in the country, all while supporting the protection of North Alabama's natural lands and freshwater resources. Moon Dance at Three Caves transforms this unique geological bowl into an evening of dinner, dancing, and community celebration. With music from DJ ReggieRegg, an immersive lighting experience courtesy of River City Lights (designed by the same artist behind Burning Man's Pearl Necklace installation), and the natural drama of three limestone cave openings as your backdrop, this isn't your typical fundraiser gala. The venue maintains a comfortable 55-degree temperature year-round, making it a pleasant escape even on warm September evenings. The event kicks off at 7 PM on September 19, 2026, at Three Caves on Monte Sano Nature Preserve, just two miles from downtown Huntsville. Tickets range from $115-$150 for individuals (with member discounts available) to $800-$1,500 for tables of eight, and include a buffet dinner from Bubba's Silver Spoon Catering plus two drink tickets. A silent auction runs throughout the week leading up to the event, with bidding closing at 9:30 PM that evening. Since there's no on-site parking, plan to use the free shuttle service from Huntsville Hospital parking lots starting at 6:30 PM, or arrange rideshare drop-off at Mountain Springs Pool. While all ages are welcome, the evening atmosphere and later timing make this particularly appealing for tweens, teens, and adults. Wear closed-toe shoes for navigating the gravel paths, and consider bringing a light jacket—those cave breezes can be refreshing. Tickets go on sale July 31 for Land Trust members and August 7 for the general public.
