Trick or Treat
Lowe Mill transforms into a candy-filled wonderland each Halloween, offering families a unique twist on traditional trick-or-treating. Instead of going door-to-door through neighborhoods, costumed kids wind their way through working artist studios, collecting treats while discovering the creative heart of Huntsville's largest art facility. This indoor celebration provides a safe, climate-controlled alternative that's particularly welcoming for younger trick-or-treaters ages 3-12 who might find traditional neighborhood routes overwhelming. The event runs from 1:00 PM on Halloween day at Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, and participation is refreshingly simple. When you arrive, bring one bag of individually wrapped candy to drop off at one of three designated stations. This candy-sharing system keeps the event free for all families while ensuring there's plenty of treats to go around. Once you've made your donation, you're free to explore the studios at your own pace, with artists ready to welcome your costumed crew with candy and Halloween cheer. Plan for at least an hour or two to fully experience the building's multiple floors and creative spaces. The indoor setting means you won't need to worry about weather or darkness, and little ones can take breaks as needed. Since this is a popular community tradition, arriving earlier in the afternoon typically means shorter lines at favorite studios. Comfortable shoes are a must for all the walking, and bringing your own trick-or-treat bag makes collecting easier.
