Ceramics: Hand-building Gnomes
Create your own quirky garden guardian in this hands-on ceramics workshop at Burritt on the Mountain. Under the guidance of experienced instructor Cate Woodall, you'll learn hand-building techniques to shape, detail, and personalize a whimsical gnome from clay. Whether you're a complete beginner or simply looking for a creative afternoon escape, this class welcomes anyone ready to get their hands dirty and bring a charming character to life. The relaxed atmosphere makes it perfect for adults, older teens, or even a parent-child duo tackling a new craft together. The workshop takes place Friday, November 13th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, with a required second session on Sunday, November 29th at the same time for glazing your finished piece. The total cost is $75, which covers all materials and instruction. You'll need to register by November 6th at 5:00 PM, and keep in mind that a portion of your registration is non-refundable. All supplies are provided, so just show up ready to create. Because this is a two-part class, plan to attend both sessions to complete your gnome. Instructor Cate Woodall, a ceramics specialist with years of teaching experience, will guide you through each step of the process. It's a wonderful chance to learn a new skill while crafting something delightfully unique for your garden or home. Just remember that the workshop is designed for ages 19 and up, so younger children will need to sit this one out.
