Drop In & CREATE; Holiday Watercolor Ornaments
The Huntsville Museum of Art invites families to get creative this December with a free drop-in watercolor workshop where kids can design their own holiday ornaments. This hands-on session teaches young artists how to use brushes and watercolors to create shading and shape, transforming simple paper into festive keepsakes. It's a wonderful opportunity for children ages 5-14 to experiment with color mixing and painting techniques while making something special to hang on the tree or give as a gift. The workshop takes place on Saturday, December 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the museum's Stender Family Interactive Education Galleries at the ART LAB. Families can drop in anytime during this two-hour window, making it easy to fit into your weekend plans. Best of all, admission is completely free for both kids and their parents or guardians, thanks to sponsorship from the Huntsville Museum of Art Guild and the Rotary Club of Greater Huntsville. Since this is a drop-in format, there's no need to register in advance—just show up ready to paint. The activity is designed to welcome the entire family, though the techniques will especially appeal to elementary and middle school-aged children who are developing their artistic skills. All materials are provided, so you can leave the craft supplies at home and simply enjoy a creative afternoon together.
