Drop In & CREATE : Mixed Media Gobblers!
Families can drop by the Huntsville Museum of Art for a creative afternoon making festive turkey decorations just in time for Thanksgiving. Taking inspiration from a stunning silver turkey in the museum's Buccellati Silver Collection, kids will craft and personalize their own cardboard gobblers to take home as centerpieces for the holiday table. It's a wonderful way to combine art appreciation with hands-on creativity, and children of all ages are welcome to participate alongside their parents. This drop-in workshop runs from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21st, in the Stender Family Interactive Education Galleries' ART LAB at the Huntsville Museum of Art. Admission is completely free for both children and their accompanying adults, so families can come and go as their schedule allows. The relaxed format means there's no need to commit to the full two hours—stop in whenever it works for your morning. The activity is designed with kids ages 4 to 14 in mind, though younger siblings and older helpers are certainly welcome. Parents should plan to stay with their children during the crafting, as this is truly a family activity. It's a low-pressure, mess-friendly environment where little ones can explore mixed media techniques while older kids can get more detailed with their turkey designs.
