Pumpkin Floral Arrangements
Huntsville Botanical Garden invites families to embrace autumn with a hands-on floral design workshop. This class gives participants the chance to hollow out a real pumpkin and fill it with seasonal blooms, creating a festive centerpiece that brings fall's natural beauty indoors. Led by Leanne Ferryman, a floral designer with years of experience and a warm teaching style, the workshop welcomes crafters of all skill levels — whether you're new to floral arranging or looking to learn fresh techniques with your older children. The class takes place on October 18 at 12:30 PM at the Garden, with specific location details sent to registered participants the week before. Tickets cost $60 per person for Garden members or $110 for non-members (which includes admission for the day). Because space is limited, advance registration is recommended. The workshop is open to all ages, though the hands-on nature of hollowing and arranging makes it especially enjoyable for teens and adults, or families with older elementary-aged children who are comfortable working with flowers and tools. Plan to spend about an hour or two creating your arrangement, and come ready to get a little messy — hollowing out a pumpkin is part of the fun. You'll leave with a unique decoration that captures the season's charm and a new skill you can use for future fall gatherings. Non-members might consider signing up for a Garden membership to enjoy discounted rates on this and other adult education programs throughout the year.
