Sparkle Studios at Lowe Mill transforms into a hub of magical mischief for the return of The Witches Collegium, a free Halloween weekend celebration that invites young wizards and their families to explore art-making through a delightfully spooky lens. What started as a creative experiment in 2022 has evolved into a beloved tradition where kids can embrace their inner witch or wizard while discovering the artistic treasures hidden throughout Lowe Mill's 47 studios. This isn't just trick-or-treating — it's a chance for children to see real artists at work while collecting treats, prizes, and inspiration along the way. The festivities take place on October 29th starting at 11:00 AM at Studio 103, though the magic extends throughout the entire building. Families can participate in a studio-wide scavenger hunt, drop into free art classes designed for the occasion, and join a costumed Witch's Walk through the historic mill building. Daily door prize drawings add an element of surprise, and many studios host special pop-up activities tailored to the Halloween theme. Since Lowe Mill is a working arts center, you'll encounter everything from painters and sculptors to jewelers and photographers, all joining in the seasonal fun.
